Current motorcycle(s):  05' Dyna Wide Glide

How did you hear about the SCRC and when did you join?
Last spring I was riding by myself for the Loudoun County Sherriffs Office poker run. At the first check-point, a group of people asked if I'd like to ride with them. In that group was Stripes and Cruzr. Stripes told me about SCRC and the following weekend's Rolling Thunder activities. I was sold.

How long have you been riding?
Since I was 16. I looked at the 79' Yamaha 750 Special in the garage and said, "How hard can it be?" The next thing I know, I'm heading down the road. No helmet, no license, not a clue wtf I was doing... But I loved it.

Have you ever taken a motorcycle safety course?
Even though I had my motorcycle license, I took the course at NOVA last spring. Kind of like a refresher,

What was your first bike?
The 79' Yamaha, but that was the family's.

How many bikes have you owned?
With my name on the title? Just my Wide Glide.

Why do you ride?
It's my version of playing golf. It's a release from life.

Have you ridden with an organized group before?
I didn't have any organized friends before I met this group, so no.

What modifications have you done to your bike?
The bike was a down payment on accessories. The harley usuals... Chrome, exhaust, seat, signals, pegs, chrome, cables, controls, grips, chrome, and more... Did I mention chrome?

What accessories do you want to add to your bike?
Uh, chrome? And miles!!!

What is your dream bike?
I guess an Ultra Classic for The Wife and I. I want to turn our Wide Glide into MY Wide Glide and strip it down for solo riding.

What kind of riding do you like to do — straight-aways or twisties?
It depends. If I'm solo - the twisties it is. If The Wife is on back, I like more of a straight-away. It's not fair to her if I ride the twisties the same way and hit a patch of something in a turn and lay it down.

If you have a nickname, how did you get it? Tell the truth!
Last fall, Gutter's Blue Ridge Parkway Ride, Aug 4th, my 30th birthday... Leaving a gas station/car wash (down hill) I slipped on the waxy residue from the car wash and tipped over. I was told to watch out for the Armor All,

What is your favorite riding route?
Let me go get a map. Ok, I'm back. Up to Frederick, and take 26, 194, 116, and 30 to York PA. Hooters for lunch. 30 back to Gettysburg for a ride though town and battlefields. And back home. Great day trip.

Do you ride your bike to work?
Once, to go look at a job. A little difficult hauling plywood on the luggage rack.

What is the fastest you’ve ridden?
Triple digits. Through Clark County while Cookie was 10-8 10-76 to a 10-45,

What is your favorite time of year to ride?
Summer. The spring allergies kick my arse and my eyes water like there's no tomorrow.

Have you ever been down? If so, how were you hurt and what did you learn from the incident?
That's now I earned my nickname... Hurt? Nahhh... Skin will grow back, but chrome is expensive,

Have you ever done an "Iron Butt" ride?
The Wife says any ride over an hour long is an iron butt ride. Not yet, but when I decide to ride 'home' to WI, I'll let you know. It's 1200 miles door to door. I can drive it in 18 hours, so that's my goal.

If not, what is the furthest you’ve ridden?
Not sure. Miles aren't important. Unless I'm not puttin' any on,

What was the worst weather in which you’ve ridden?
Everyone goes with rain, but I'm going with the heat on the day we hit the D-day memorial on Gutters BRP ride. Wow, was that hot.

Do you know how to work on your bike?
So far, I have done everything myself and only use the dealerships for parts/accessories. It's a harley, it doesn't need any wrenching... ;)

What is your favorite road song?
Does the roar of the wind count? No radio on the bike, so no tunes,

What was your most adventurous ride?
Last year my dad, brother and The Wife and I did Americas911ride. Police escorted from Leesburg to Somerset, PA; from Somerset to Arlington, VA; and from Arlington to NYC. Awesome,

What rallies or events do you like to attend?
I like em' all. Carlisle, Gettysburg, Leesburg PD... But the favorite is.... Rolling Thunder.

Is there someone who rides "two-up" with you?
Is The Wife going to read this? I better play this one safe... The Wife owns that pillion seat. She determines who has permission to climb aboard. I control who sits in the cockpit - she coltrols the passengers,

Off the cuff from...C-Note
There once was a man from Nantuckett... Oh, wait. Family forum... As you can tell, I try to bring a little humor to the group. But seriously... This is far and away, the best group of people I could've asked to be hooked up with. Even you metric riders are ok... It's been great and I look forward to a lot more rides, socials, and great times with all of you. Now excuse me while I go get a tissue...
