Hometown:  Born in Cleveland, OH and raised in Perryopolis, PA ( Western PA – south of Pittsburgh).

Children:  Two – both daughters (27 and 30).

Occupation:  Renovation financing specialist for Prospect Mortgage – I’m the guy with money for all of those “honey do” projects as well as the money for those who are buying and fixing up foreclosed properties.

Current motorcycle(s):  2000 Harley Soft Tail Classic.

How did you hear about the SCRC and when did you join?
Henry Powers, a riding friend from Haymarket first told me about the group – you know those Metric riders sometimes talk to us old Harley folks ;-)

How long have you been riding?
Since I was 17

Have you ever taken a motorcycle safety course?
According to my non-riding friends that is a contradiction in terms…. But yes, just last year I took the RLAP (Ride Like a Pro) course and I have taken the Harley Riders Edge course as a “refresher”.

What was your first bike?
Bridgestone 90cc.

How many bikes have you owned?
Six.

Why do you ride?
Well I’m tempted to say because I am too lazy to walk, but that’s not really true as I walk my dog about 6 or 7 hours week. I ride because I can, because it gives me time to think and to be a little closer to the world around me. For me my bike puts the personal in personal transportation.

Have you ridden with an organized group before?
Not to the extent that I have with the Southern Cruisers.

What modifications have you done to your bike?
Nothing yet – I bought it used from a non-rider (it had 2500 miles on it when I picked it up last Summer) who had good taste in options and chrome add ons.

What accessories do you want to add to your bike?
I luggage rack, new pipes, new cam, S&S Carb, and new wheels to start.

What is your dream bike?
No sure it’s been built yet. Seems to change a bit every year.

What kind of riding do you like to do — straight-aways or twisties?
Oh Yeah!

What is your favorite riding route?
Anywhere - but given the chance I usually head South and West.

Do you ride your bike to work?
As often as I can.

What is your favorite time of year to ride?
Anytime there is not snow and ice on the road.

Have you ever been down? If so, how were you hurt and what did you learn from the incident?
Wrecked my horse a few times – those were my worst injuries. As far as the bike – three broken ankles, a broken hand – I learned not to ride fast on ice and that old wet trolley car tracks should be avoided wherever possible.

Have you ever done an "Iron Butt" ride?
Nope.

If not, what is the furthest you’ve ridden?
Cincinatti to Middleburg.

What was the worst weather in which you’ve ridden?
Caught in a hail storm going from Pittsburgh to Cleveland.

Do you know how to work on your bike?
Not as well as I would like.

What is your favorite road song?
Several, but I have a real soft spot for Born to be Wild from the old Easy Rider flick.

What was your most adventurous ride?
Let’s just let this one go.

What rallies or events do you like to attend?
I keep showing up for Rolling Thunder – but Daytona Bike Week is on my list and I think that everyone would like to make the trip to Sturgis at least once.

Is there someone who rides "two-up" with you?
My wife, Marilynn will occasionally. Most of the time I ride solo.

Off the cuff from...Adam
I think I’ll stop while I’m ahead. See y’all on the road. Ride safe, ride well and ride often! Adam.
