How did you hear about the SCRC and when did you join?
I actually found out about SCRC using Google.

How long have you been riding?
About 4 years now.

Have you ever taken a motorcycle safety course?
Yes, out of Fairfax.

What was your first bike?
Boulevard C-50

How many bikes have you owned?
Just 2.....for now

Why do you ride?
I got a bike so that I would save on gas when I Geocached. I figured it would get me in an out of areas quicker then a car....funny thing is I like to ride more than I do Geocache now. I've often thought about trying to put a ride together that incorporates both, just need an RC willing to lead.

Have you ridden with an organized group before?
Yes, but I didn't like the riding style with them.

What modifications have you done to your bike?
Well, funny thing is all the modifications I have made, I've put back just recently.

What accessories do you want to add to your bike?
None to this bike.

What is your dream bike?
I'm shopping for a new one right now,,,,I'm hoping to get a Honda Goldwing.

What kind of riding do you like to do — straight-aways or twisties?
I think I like twisties more as I am least likely to get bored and do something stupid like take my right hand off the bars.

If you have a nickname, how did you get it? Tell the truth!
Well, It's been with me since I met up with a few friends and they were also Rich, and a son Rich, and my son Rich. So we all have a nickname that suits us using the name Rich.

What is your favorite riding route?
Leaving Leesburg, taking Lime Kiln, to snickersville, back up to 7, down to river road, south to 50, back up snickersville, Lime Kiln and home....Its my stress relief ride.

Do you ride your bike to work?
I do as much as I can, hopefully more when I get the Goldwing.

What is the fastest you’ve ridden?
Shhh, don't tell me Girlfriend, but I've hit 95.

What is your favorite time of year to ride?
Spring probably, still cool enough and less bugs.

Have you ever been down? If so, how were you hurt and what did you learn from the incident?
I have, a flat tire in a turn laid me down sideways, totalled the bike and helmet, but I was fine.

Have you ever done an "Iron Butt" ride?
Not yet, it's on my list!

If not, what is the furthest you’ve ridden?
I've only put about 600 in at one time, and it about killed me.

What was the worst weather in which you’ve ridden?
Thunderstorm down the Dulles Greenway. Heavy rain and the lack of a fairing really hurt the chest.

Do you know how to work on your bike?
I do, and I really enjoy it. I bring the bike inside over the winter and tinker all winter long.

What is your favorite road song?
Black Betty, it's my 9's name and love to start a ride off with it.

What was your most adventurous ride?
I hope it's yet to come!

What rallies or events do you like to attend?
Rolling Thunder, Rattle the Runway.

Is there someone who rides "two-up" with you?
Not yet, but when I get the new Bike hopefully my Girlfriend Tina.

Off the cuff from...Richard
I really like being a part of SCRC and get along great with all the members here. Riding in a group for me is about companionship with a bit of singularity thrown in. I like riding and having my thoughts to myself, but getting somewhere and going over the trip with everyone and hearing their own take on the ride. You probably won't find my on the forums that much. I've tried to keep up with the conversations but I keep getting lost LOL.
