Throttle lead a few hardy members on the ride to kick off the group riding season. The temps were cool and rain threatened. The ride was mostly dry with a brief light shower towards the end. The group ended the ride with lunch at Green Turtle in Leesburg.
This year's season premiere ride was attended by 28 people on 27 motorcycles. The weather was sunny and warm and the number of motorcycles on the road certainly reflected this. This season's first ride took us through parts of Loudoun and Fauquier counties. We visited Middleburg, the Plains, Marshall, Paris, Upperville, Roundhill, and Purceville. .
Ride lead by Tom 'Tank' down to a great BBQ joint in Mineral, VA were there was also ice cream across the parking lot. A hot, humid day but a few little sprinkles and some trees helped keep things from being too hot.

Chad took the Loudoun SCRC group on a short ride up to Pennsylvania to visit the Cordorus Furnace. We had lunch at the Wrightsville Inn and also stopped by the Indian Steps Museum. Perhaps most importantly though, we stopped at a great little ice cream shop.
Dan took us on a ride to several water features. Water falls, covered bridges, and the C&O canal were just some of the amazing sites we got to see. The roads, foilage, and company were of the best quality!
As you can see from the pictures, everyone worked real hard. Well maybe not everyone. Anyways the Loudoun group came together and helped clean up the flower beds, transplant some flowers, and trim up the yard a bit for Gutter and his family.
2nd Officer, Tank, led the group (18 bikes) to Mineral, VA. The weather was warm and the route very scenic. We lucked out in Mineral, as the 'Almost Heaven Smoked BBQ' was open for an American Legion event (their normally closed on Sundays). They welcomed us in and treated us to excellent food and service.

Dan led us on a ride to High Rock and then to Antietam. We had a tasty lunch at the Cozy Restaurant and a Dan provided us with a brief bit of history of the battle at Antietam. The weather was fantastic and the company (as always) unbeatable.
Throttle led a small group of riders down to Charlottesville for some BBQ. The route took the group along the foothills of the Shenandoah NP and then back up along Skyline drive. Although cloud cover was heavy at times, the sun did make an appearance a few times and the group manged to dance around the rain showers in the area.
