Safety Tip from Throttle - Don’t be so quick to pass

Return to tip of the week

If the rider or driver in front of you is slowing down, be sure you know why before you pass them. They could be slowing down for a number of reasons including.

  • Preparing to make a left turn. You wouldn’t want to be trying to pass them on the left only to have them turn left into you.
  • Slowing down because of a law enforcement officer running radar.
  • Preparing to make a U-turn. They may begin to move right only to swing left back into your path to make their U-turn.
  • An obstruction / animal in the road
